Design Services
At Monarú, our design services are rooted in formal training in product design and architecture, supported by over two decades of combined experience as designers, educators, and craft fabricators. This foundation enables us to deliver refined and imaginative solutions efficiently and cost-effectively, with a thoughtful, multidisciplinary approach to each project.
We work independently or in collaboration with private clients, interior designers, architects, and artists to bring concepts to life — from initial idea to final fabrication.
Deliverables include custom furniture, bespoke interiors, and digital models for CNC manufacturing. Every project is an opportunity to innovate and craft something truly unique.
CNC Machining
Monarú has two industrial CNC routers cutting up to 3050mm in length and 1500mm in width. They are equipped with a vacuum bed for efficient and extremely good work piece hold-down, as well as an automatic tool changer capable of holding up to 24 different tools at once. Both of these features enable us to process jobs efficiently, and therefore competitively, whilst achieving the accuracy required by our clients.
Most of our work consists of 2D and 2.5D routing in materials up to 80mm thick. For work that requires a larger final thickness, or full 3D shapes,we can laminate layers to achieve this. For Example these 3D Guinness Toucans.
We also can make 3D or contoured landscapes for Architectural models.

Design Consultations
Available to private clients, interior designers, architects, artists, and other creative professionals.
Concept Development & Iteration
We help identify design opportunities and potential challenges early in the process. Concepts are developed and refined with a strong focus on how pieces will be manufactured, assembled, and finished. Deliverables may include concept sketches, 3D models, and visual renders.
Design for Manufacture
We develop every detail required for manufacture. In collaboration with the client, we determine materials, fixing methods, and hardware. We produce production-ready drawings for sign-off, and — where needed — use parametric design tools to explore iterations for complex geometries.
We can translate drawings into formats suitable for digital fabrication processes including CNC routing, laser cutting, 3D printing, and plasma cutting.

Send us a drawing to studio@monaru.ie- accepted file types include .dxf, .dwg, .ai, .eps, .pdf. If you haven't got a CAD drawing then don't worry, we can create one for you. We can also provide design and drawing services to help get your product/parts machine ready.

Laminate Pressing
Monarú currently has a hydraulic press which is capable of pressing panels up to 2440mm x 1220mm in size. The press has a single daylight of 400mm which allows us to press large batches of panels in one operation.
In the near future, we plan to add a heated press capable of pressing 3050mm x 1220mm.
Materials
A common application for this service is to press high pressure laminates onto birch plywood. Pressed panels can then be transferred over to one of our CNC routers for machining. By providing these two services simultaneously under one roof we can shorten lead-times, reduce costs associated with outsourcing, and reduce the transport of material between different sites. We can also press plywood to plywood to make larger thicknesses, and bespoke sizes.
